Imagine yourself reading humorous books by Mark Twain, Jerome K. Jerome, Ambrose Bierce, or O. Henry. Well, this is not it, exactly. However, this is as close as it gets for modern humor books. Here you will find a collection of funny stories that are based on the following idea
★WHEN YOU EXCLUDE THE IMPROBABLE, WHATEVER IS LEFT, IS NOT AS HILARIOUS.★
The stories cover diverse and socially-relevant subjects such as chocolate guns, midget assassins, spell-checkers in space, romantic Frenchmen with a taste for pizza-delivery girls, and, of course, the use of invisible bricks as weapons of mass destruction.
"Funny stories that are truly heartwarming in their humor." -Dennis Waller, Top 500 Reviewer,
"Whether you simply enjoy the stories for the absurd or whether you appreciate the thoughts behind them, the stories are funny either way and pleasant reading material." -Christoph Fischer, Top 1000 Reviewer,
P.S. If you've had the perseverance to read the above self-serving nonsense that is designed to make you buy this book all the way up to this point, consider me duly impressed--you are a saint. We should do lunch sometime.

First of all, I would like to say that I am the first reviewer who didn't award this book 5 stars. I believe 5 star books are almost transcendent in their excellency. I hardly ever give out 5 star review and if I do something has really wowed me. For me, this collection of short stories falls between 3.5 and 4 stars (which I've rounded up to 4 since amazon doesn't have half stars.)On the plus side- the stories are incredibly creative and are written in a variety of formats, most of which work well for their individual stories.
On the down side- the stories are so over-the-top whimsical that at times the lighthearted zaniness of the stories felt forced. Sometimes it was just a bit too much.
Additionally, many of the stories defy the conventional story arc (set up, climax, conclusion) which is ok, but lacking a proper wrap up made the stories feel less complete.
Readers who enjoy zany and whimsical writing (such as fans of Douglas Adams or Robert Rankin) should enjoy this. Readers who appreciate a good creative imagination should enjoy this. Less adventurous readers may find these unconventional tales to be a bit too much for them.

Invisible Bricks Lunch Break Funnies Humor Book Series 7 edition by Oleg Medvedkov Hercules Editing Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I just finished this little book. I was hooked from the first story. It brought more than a few smiles to my face and it was nice to read a book that didn't need some serious editing for a change. I loved the rabbit and the hippie computer and got a bit of a giggle over the Celli Fonees.
This was a quick read full of silly, quirky, humorous shorts. It reminded me of things I read in the 1970s when I was in high school. I only wish the book had been longer. I hope this author continues to hone his craft while writing and publishing more books like this. People need more reasons to smile when they read.
My first book by this author, and certainly not my last one!
Not a big fan of short stories, but this one is then the exception to the rule.
As with all compilations, some stories are better than others, but all in all the balance goes between funny and very funny.
The Space Bunny is definitely my favourite, just no way to get around it!
Thanks a lot for brightening up my dark and wet September day, was great reading on my kindle!
What a pleasure to read a smart, funny, refreshingly different book - filled with wonderfully absurd tales. Invisible Bricks (Lunch Break Funnies, Humor Book Series) by Oleg Medvedkov is a kind of diversion from the mundane. I read the random excerpt from the field manual twice because I enjoyed it so much. And there are many others I will revisit, but the invisible bricks one is brilliant . . . where is that invisible paint! Recommended to all who like laugh and think!
As with most books, this one can be read at several levels. On one hand it is an extremely funny collection of absurd stories.
But some of the stories also have deeper meanings if you look for them. There are many good ideas in the book, including the chocolate gun which is eaten after firing to destroy the evidence.
My favourite character is Space Rabbit, but even the totally ridiculous Dog of Action ends up helping most of his callers.
This is the second book by Oleg Medvedkov's that I have read. After reading "Love Advice for The Dog of Action and Other Funny Stories," I was captivated by the author's humorous and witty style.
The stories in "Invisible Bricks" are populated with funny and surprising characters such as the space sheriff rabbit with carrot allergies who loathes paperwork, a professional killer-dwarf, a cat with an addiction to bets, a pothead computer, a radio broadcaster who is unable to interpret reality, cheeky philosophy students who irk soldiers, and more. Using absurd, ridiculous, funny, and surprising characters in a playful plot, the author exposes the absurdity and ridiculousness of our reality. Beyond being entertaining and amusing, this book embodies a criticism of contemporary existence.
This book of short stories is utterly hilarious and all kinds of brillianty. Satire, dark humor, commentary on the human condition, even a political dig or two (I especially loved those) - what a fun book! It's hard to pick a favorite story, because even my least favorite was crazy-entertaining, but if I had to narrow it down, I'd pick Sins Of Omission. It's about a Ninja that gets the glorious opportunity to go undercover stealth on a group of Samurais. Teee heee heee.
Every story is hilarious, especially if you like satire and making fun of your own species. I'd give this a ten star, if only. Clever stuff.
I highly recommend this book for adults and mature teens (not because of sexual content...you've just gotta be all grown up to get much of the humor here).
