I won a free copy of this book from Library Things. The author requested an honest review."Suzy's Birthday Adventure" by Joe Clarke is a clever tale about Suzy's 4th birthday party, which will be held in New York City. Suzy has never been to New York City, and is very excited to be having her birthday party there. She is left with a baby-sitter until her parents have a chance to set up the party decorations. Then she and her baby-sitter hop on a train bound for New York. But when they get there, the sitter cannot find the address where they are supposed to go for the party! So Suzy just asks the cabbie to take them to the "most fun" place in town, because that is sure to be where her party is.
After visiting several different "most fun" places in town, and having a great time doing it, Suzy's sitter finally admits defeat, apologizes to Suzy, and says it is time they head back home. Suzy is disappointed, but does admit she had fun in the city anyway, even if she did miss her party. But what awaits her at home? Was this all a trick to get her out of the house for a while? Was the trip to New York City really her birthday present?
This is a cute little story, and one that young children will want to have read to them numerous times. It is also one you won't mind reading to them numerous times, which isn't always the case!

Suzy Birthday Adventure eBook Joe Clarke Reviews
I received this book from the Library Thing via the author in exchange for my honest review.
I could tell by the first page of Suzy's Birthday Adventure that the book was beautifully illustrated with bright colors. Suzy, a little girl whose parents gave her a birthday party in NYC, was all set for her big day in the city...until her babysitter lost the address to the party! After a long day of surprises and fun in NYC and not finding her birthday party, Suzy and her babysitter go home... to find another surprise. I was excited to read the book, although there are a few typos, because I wanted to know where the party was going to be! Good book!
This is a childs story that takes the little girl(4 years old) inot New York City. Her and her babysitter have several adventures while there searching for the little girls birthday party. Unable to find the party they return home where her parents and friends were waiting at the actual party. Though I believe the lil girl in this story should have been a lil bit older its still a great adventure book to share with small children. really cute read recommended for all ages. received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review
Suzy's Birthday Adventure by Joe Clarke
Colorful illustrated children's book about a little girl who's birthday is today and the family will be celebrating in NYC. Parents leave to set up the party and then the babysitter dresses her in the new sparkly pink dress and shoes and takes her on a train then a taxi ride but she lost the address of where the party is to be held...
They end up on a boat shaped like a shark and visit the statue of liberty. Then they find Serendipity and buy candy next door. While having lunch she gets a huge surprise!
They also visit other places and then it's too late to find the party so they get on the train and head home, where there is another surprise for them.
Love this adventure as I have not been to the city since I was a teen. Even though this is mainly about a girl it can easily be told about a boy and his special birthday.
